On a tiny island in a far-flung corner of a small world not unlike ours, an unfortunate mine worker buries his pickaxe in his last outcrop of rock between himself and the resting place of a timeless magical creature, awakening it rather earlier than his employers had intended in a terrible explosion of heat and light.
Fleeing the clutches of those seeking it, the creature summons three individuals with great potential to its aid. Great potential, but rather few of the heroic traits required to rise to their epic task.
Can this trio survive a trek across a hostile land, the machinations of an amoral corporation and an ancient cult and each other to protect the Spirit? Can some of them even be bothered? ......

Freeware Games Description: King's Quest: Quest for the Crown, a revolutionary game designed by Roberta Williams and released in 1984, epitomizes the adventure gaming experience. This game was the first of its kind that allowed the player to interact in an entirely original 2.5D world, and can be credited as the game that started graphic adventure gaming on the PC altogether. King's Quest was not only groundbreaking, but also history in the making, and was followed by seven more games bearing the King's Quest title.
King's Quest II was the sequel to the original King's Quest game designed by Roberta Williams. Many people regard this to be the game most in need of an upgrade. Several people were discontented with this sequel, believing the puzzles were illogical and the storyline was too sparse. Additionally, the graphics, which were impressive for its time, are now painfully outdated, and several computers cannot even run the game with sound anymore! To make things even worse, this classic is no longer available in stores.
The King's Quest II+ VGA remake is similar to AGDI's King's Quest I VGA remake, which upgraded the graphics and interface of the original King's Quest game, but this time there's added storyline, puzzles, art, music, atmosphere, depth, culture, and more - basically, the whole nine yards!
Freeware Games Comment: These freeware adventure games are remakes of classic Sierra Adventure games from the early nineties. They have been re-released as updated freeware versions by The Anonymous Games Developers and are well worth a look.

Freeware Games Description: Cult is a Freeware game by Lee Blum.
Using negotiation and trade, one must resolve a situation involving barricaded cultists in a villa two kilometers away from town.
As you play, you wander around the villa, meeting some of the brainwashed cult members (and some reasonable people). You talk to them, find out what they want, and trade items with them for information. You learn a little about the social structure of the cult and even get to save some lives. Advancing from room to room, you find keys to locked doors and operate switches to remove barriers.
Today we witness too much blood in games when we want to solve problems. As the author of this game, living in the middle east, I want to show that problems can be solved by negotiation, and bloodshed can be avoided. There should be some games that portray negotiation as a peaceful - and viable - solution.
